Bucket List Ideas: Thailand
If there is one place you need to add to your bucket list, it is Thailand. This Asian gem is one of a kind, with so much to offer. There aren’t many destinations that truly have something for everyone, but Thailand is definitely one. So, let’s get straight to it and look at some of the reasons why Thailand should be added to your bucket list.
Whale sharks – How does swimming with whale sharks sound? Not many countries provide you with this opportunity, but Thailand does. These gentle giants pass through Koh Tao every year, and you can get into the water with them for an experience you will never forget.
Island hopping – Thailand is known for island hopping because of the unlimited opportunities there are! There are so many unspoiled islands here, which will truly take your breath away. If you are looking for an idyllic beach, Bamboo Island is well worth considering.
Spiritual healing – Thailand is a great place to go if you want to enrich your mind and soul. You can take a specialist Thailand yoga retreat, or you can simply look to incorporate something like this into your overall trip. Either way, Thailand offers some of the most serene and tranquil spots, which can leave you feeling refreshed and reinvigorated.
Witness the world’s scariest railway – Known as the Death Railway, this line was devised in WW2 by the Imperial Army of Japan. It was used to transport both supplies and troops from Bangkok to Burma. It was featured in Bridge on the River Kwai – a classic 50’s film. For every sleeper laid, one man died! It cost the lives of around 100,000 native laborers and 13,000 POWs, so it does not get the name Death Railway lightly.
Khao Sok National Park – Another attraction that is a must-visit is Khao Sok National Park, where you will find a range of exotic species. This includes gibbons, as well as deer, monkeys, Asiatic wild dogs, tapirs, tigers, leopards, and sun bears.
Buddhas – There are so many gleaming Buddhas across Thailand, and they share one thing in common; they look incredible! Some are tiny, others are huge, but you should definitely take a peek at some of the temples when you head to Thailand. They are incredible.
Pretty pink lakes – The lakes around the country play host to pink water lilies. When they are in bloom, they are absolutely stunning!
Thai street food – Last but not least, this blog post would not be complete without mentioning Thai street food. You can enjoy some of the tangiest and spiciest tom yum soups from roadside stalls, as well as other street food treats, including fresh yellow chilies and spice stir-fried crabmeat.
As you can see, there are lots of reasons why Thailand is a must-visit. Will this be your next holiday destination?
