Amazing Photos of Sicily
Back in 2014, I made one of the best decisions in my life – I went on vacation in Sicily. I went there by plane and rented a car from the very first day, so my travel partner and I could explore as much of the island as possible in 10 days. Spending each day exploring, and taking some pretty amazing photos of Sicily.

We had so much fun and saw so many authentic, medieval towns that all the money spent on gas was more than worth it. Just for the record, our accommodation was in Trappeto (affiliate link), but we managed to visit top Sicilian destinations like San Vito Lo Capo and Cefalu as well as sights like Erice; we even drove 260km to Catania and got back to Trappeto in a single day.

I’m telling you, Sicily is a must-see destination for everyone; it offers marvelous, sandy beaches with crystal-clear waters, historical sights, and authentic buildings. Even if you get lost in a random town, you will probably be amazed by its narrow streets and charming local restaurants.
It was so great that I want to go there again and longer, so I could check out everything that I missed the first time.
This will be the first post of a series for Sicily. Each post will focus on something different regarding our little adventure in il Trappeto or Sicilia. In this post, I just want to share some gorgeous photos that I believe would make anyone want to visit this wonderful Italian island.
So, without further ado, here are some of the amazing photos of Sicily I enjoy showing to my friends or just staring at when I’m feeling down.
Unforgettable View from Erice
Besides being one of the best places I’ve ever visited, Erice is also one of the best places to take photos like this!
Hello to the Cities of Balestrate and Castellammare
Balestrate is the first place, in Sicily, we visited after arriving in Trappeto. Authentic, small town, with narrow, mostly empty, streets and secret passages. Next, we continued our journey on a hill before Castellammare, which gives a breath-taking view of the sea and the marina.
The Windy San Vito Lo Capo Adventure
This is one of the most popular destinations in Sicily for tourists; even though popular for its fairy-tale-like beach and sea, we were welcomed by wind and huge waves. Sucked for us, right? We made the most of it and enjoyed our time at a local restaurant eating ice-creme.
Citta Di Cefalu
Charming, yet expensive, Cefalu is yet another fancy destination to visit when in Sicily.
Concluding Thoughts
That was it, people! No need to be sad though; if you want to enjoy some more nice photos, you can check out these top Sithonia beaches or these gorgeous beaches in Chalkidiki!
