Backpacking locations with a little bit of flare

If you’re considering going backpacking, or if you have a little trip planned, then you need to know that there are some unmissable backpacking locations dotted around the world, that will give you the ultimate backpacking experience. People usually go backpacking for a month or longer, so there’s plenty of different stops that you can make along the way.

Some are going to be a little more expensive than others, but stopping in a hostel doesn’t always define a backpacking trip. Sometimes you just need a little bit of luxury to get you through, and that’s what this article is going to offer you. Have a read of the locations we’ve got below, and let us know what you think your favorites are.

Africa

Africa is easily one of the most beautiful countries in the world. The variety of different landscapes and cultures that it offers just leaves you in total awe. If you wanted to do a bit of high-end backpacking, you should definitely stay in one of Kenya’s luxury safari lodges, such as the Angama, which will blow your mind.

It’s in the perfection location to do a bit of exploring, and the view you’ll be able to wake up to in the morning will be incredible. You will obviously get to have the magical experience of visiting one of the wildlife national parks, which will allow you to get up close and personal with some of the most amazing animals in the world.

You won’t need much in the way of spending money whilst you’re over there, a lot of the places to eat and drink are so so cheap. But you will need to make sure you’re getting all of your shots before you go. As amazing as Africa is, it definitely is home to some nasty viruses and diseases that you just don’t want to get.

Prague

Prague is probably more suited to a backpacker due to the many hostels there are to stay in, and the extremely cheap drinks and food that is available there. It’s one of the cheapest cities to visit, yet it’s rich in so much culture. Prague castle is a firm favorite with tourists, as is St. Vitus Cathedral.

Just be prepared to be surrounded by a lot of stag do’s. It is one of the most popular places for them to visit, but if you’re traveling alone, it might be one of the best places to meet new people and make new friends along the way. Here are some cool things to do in Prague.

Borneo

Back to somewhere where the climate is a little warmer now. Borneo is just an amazing little place to visit. You can either spend your time lounging around on the beaches, or you could go trekking up Mount Kinabalu. One of the things that people go there to see a lot is the Orangutans. Some are running in the wild and some are kept within conservation to try and preserve the species. They’re friendly, inquisitive, and you’ll fall in love with them as soon as you see them.
